Anime: Another (アナザー Anaza)

No comments:

Hey Guys!

For IPT students, how is your semester break? Have you done something interesting yet?
Me never done anything yet, haha, just spending the first week cleaning up my dusty room (well, it have been left for more than a month, so of course nothing left instead of that unhealthy atmosphere with the dusty covered all around! uhuk!)

It seems like so long I just write/blabbering about my own life and things that happen around me, so I'm taking this chance (today I'm free, hehe) to write about this favorite Anime of mine, actually, I was a lazy girl, lazy to spend a little time to face my lappy and write about something new (well, just sometimes hehe)

So I've watched this Anime in last Semester at my IPT, but I never write about it, and right now I'm kind of run out of idea, so I think I should write about one, perhaps it will be helpful for someone who looking for a horror genre Anime, maybe you can try it out ( I mean watch it =D)

So ( so and so and so~~) here it is, "Another", in Japanese also called "アナザー : Anazā" , it is a Japanese mystery horror novel by Yukito Ayatsuji, published on October 29, 2009 by Kadokawa Shoten. The story focuses on a boy named Kōichi Sakakibara who, upon transferring into Yomiyama Middle School and meeting the curious Mei Misaki, finds himself in a mystery revolving around students and people related to his class facing gruesome, senseless deaths. A manga adaptation by Hiro Kiyohara was serialized between the May 2010 and January 2012 in the issues of Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace. Both the novel and the manga have been licensed in North America by Yen Press. A 12-episode anime TV series produced by P.A. Works aired in Japan between January 10 and March 27, 2012, with an original video animation released on May 26, 2012, and a live-action film was released in Japanese theatres on August 4, 2012.

Hehe, Cool? (Oi not yet, keep reading till the end!)

Synopsis :

In 1972, Misaki (this one is another Misaki, it was a boy Misaki, not that Mei Misaki-keep reading to know what I meant about~), a popular student of Yomiyama North Middle School's class 3-3, suddenly died partway through the school year. Devastated by the unexpected loss, the students and teachers behaved like Misaki was still alive, leading to a strange presence on the graduation photo. In Spring 1998, 15-year-old Kōichi Sakakibara transfers into Yomiyama's class 3-3, where he meets the peculiar Mei Misaki, who is seemingly ignored by her classmates. The class is soon caught up in a strange epidemic, where its students and their relatives are caught up in mysterious deaths. Learning these deaths have something to do with the Misaki of 1972, it is up to Kōichi and Mei to discover the cause of these mysterious deaths and figure out how to stop it before it puts an end to them. (You will shock to death if you know who starts the calamity, hehe, watch yourself if you want to know the ending =) )

Main Characters :

Kōichi Sakakibara (榊原恒一 Sakakibara Kōichi)
Voiced by: Atsushi Abe
A 15-year-old boy who transferred to Yomiyama North Middle's class 3-3, but was hospitalized due of a pneumothorax right before the school year began. He stays with his grandparents and aunt Reiko, while his father conducts research in India. He befriends Mei Misaki despite warnings against doing so, and works with his classmates to uncover the truth behind the curse of class 3-3. He has doubts regarding his connection to the curse, going so far as to believe he may be the "dead one", though Mei lays his fears to rest.

Mei Misaki (見崎鳴 Misaki Mei)

Voiced by: Natsumi Takamori
An unusual girl in Kōichi's class. She is recognizable due to the eyepatch that covers her left eye, a doll's eye crafted by her adoptive mother. She claims it allows her to see the "color of death". At first, she is completely ignored by her classmates and sits in an old, scratched desk at the back of the classroom. Kōichi first meets her on the elevator of Yūmigaoka Hospital, and they gradually become closer. He defends her numerous times, particularly when faced with their very hostile classmates, some of whom believe her to be the "dead one" behind their year's calamity. She appears rather "doll-like" on the surface, but still has human feelings. In the novel and manga, Mei's doll eye is blue; in the anime, it is green.

Another is a 677-page novel written by Yukito Ayatsuji. The novel was originally serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's literary magazine Yasai Jidai in intermittent periods between the August 2006 and May 2009 issues. A re-release of the bunkobon edition featuring illustrations by Noizi Ito was released under the imprint Sneaker Bunko on March 1, 2012. Ayatsuji has announced he will write a spin-off novel titled Another: Episode S and a sequel novel titled Another 2. Yen Press has licensed the novel in North America.

A manga adaptation illustrated by Hiro Kiyohara was serialized between the May 2010 and January 2012 issues of Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine. Four tankōbon volumes were released between October 4, 2010 and December 29, 2011. A "0th" volume of the manga was released on May 26, 2012.
